When excavations started for the Parc Central shopping centre, some Roman buildings were found, including a dwelling from the 4th century (with baths and a mosaic) and a 5th-century early Christian basilica with a square apse, three naves, a transept and an atrium. Inside the temple more than 160 tombs were discovered, leading to the assumption that it had been a funerary basilica.
