This February the city is organizing a series of events with an emphasis on Flamenco. Internationally-recognized flamenco stars and local artistes will be headlining a programme that includes flamenco shows, concerts, workshops and exhibitions.

“La Disfressa d’Or” is a great scenic show that is held in Tarragona on the Sunday of Carnival. The troupes get dressed up and enter the competition for the most representative costume accompanied by King “Carnestoltes”, his Concubine and his entourage.

The Tarragona Carnival stands out for its spectacular costumes, especially the “ Rua de la Artesania”, which is held on the Saturday of Carnival. Over three thousand people work all year long to turn this sensational event into a reality.
